Collection: AFFLICTION

Affliction is an American clothing brand that rose to significant popularity in the late 2000s, largely defining a specific hyper-masculine, graphic-heavy aesthetic. Launched in 2005 by Courtney Dubar and Eric Fos, the brand aimed to create clothing that featured bold, counter-culture art and premium quality fabrics. Their signature style is instantly recognizable, characterized by elaborate, full-coverage designs incorporating aggressive graphics such as skulls, wings, crosses, skeletons, and swords, often featuring distressed finishes, rhinestones, and tie-dye or "lava wash" treatments.

The brand became a prominent staple in the mixed martial arts (MMA) community, with top fighters like Randy Couture and Georges St-Pierre wearing their T-shirts, which helped propel Affliction into the mainstream "bro culture" by 2008. Their appeal also extended to the rock and roll and moto culture scenes, leading to collaborations with major musicians like Ozzy Osbourne and Avenged Sevenfold. At its peak, Affliction was a symbol of a "live fast" attitude, a stark contrast to the minimalist fashion that would eventually dominate the 2010s.

Affliction's widespread saturation eventually led to its decline in mainstream popularity, as the loud, statement-heavy designs began to feel outdated and were sometimes mocked as "douchebag couture". Despite this, the brand never fully left the market. Today, Affliction still exists, serving a loyal niche audience and those nostalgic for the Y2K era. While their designs have been slightly toned down in some collections, the brand remains committed to its original bold, artistic vision and craftsmanship, with many products still proudly made in the USA.
